Get involved and pay less
Parents can get more involved through roles such as Age Manager, Water Safety, Official or Patrol. The membership category that applies depends on the role and qualifications you hold.
Age Manager
Help guide a Nippers age group and support activities on Sunday mornings.
Water Safety
Gain the appropriate award and help keep Nippers safe during water activities.
Official
Support surf sports events by completing the relevant officiating training.
Patrol
Gain an SRC, Bronze Medallion or other appropriate award and join a patrol team.
How to Get Started
Joining Fingal Beach SLSC is easy. Follow these simple steps:
Before you begin: You will need an account in the SLSA Members Area / Hub and should select Fingal Beach SLSC as your club. Members under 18 require a parent or guardian to complete the relevant registration steps.
For New Members
Become a Member
Register online through the SLSA Hub. Select Fingal Beach SLSC as your club.
Register Now β βComplete Award
For patrol members, complete your swim proficiency assessment (200m in 5min or 400m in 9min).
Get Your Gear
Pick up your club uniform and equipment from the clubhouse.
Join the Fun
Start training, meet your patrol team, and become part of the Fingal Beach community.
For Renewing Members
Renew Membership
Complete your annual renewal online.
Maintain Skills and Proficiency
Complete skills maintenance requirements to stay current.
At least one parent or guardian must be a member for Nippers families. Parents are part of the fun too!

Important information to review before applying
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
All members working with children or young people must hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC). This includes Age Managers and Nipper trainers.

Membership Eligibility
We follow SLSA Policy 6.16 regarding criminal convictions for community safety.
- β Serious Criminal Offences require State Centre approval
- β Applications without approval are invalid

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
For active patrol duties, swimming proficiency is required. However, we have many non-swimming roles in administration, events, and support.
What time commitment is required?
Active lifesavers commit to 4-6 patrols per season (approx 20 hours). Nippers attend weekly sessions during the season (Oct-Apr).
When does the season start?
The official patrol season runs from October to April. Nippers program runs October to March. Training courses run year-round.
Can I try before I join?
Yes! We welcome potential members to 'come and try' sessions. Contact us to arrange a visit and see what we're all about.
